ASA- American Sailing Association Certified Sailing Instruction

All our instruction is aboard the boat, and with our Basic/Coastal Combination Course, you will receive a Free 8 Hour rental aboard our 25' Catalina (a $350.value FREE!)


Basic Sailing Class (ASA #101-$395.00)
Learn the fundamentals of sailing keel boats of 25 ft. including sail theory, terminology, safety, basic cart work, rules of the road, man overboard drills, and much more. All instruction is aboard the boat. Students successfully completing this course will receive ASA certification. No previous experience is required. A written exam is required. Two day class (Course materials $40)

Coastal Cruising (ASA #103 - $495.00)
Saturday and Sunday 10am to 4 pm
Learn the fundamentals of coastal cruising and auxiliary sailing yacht during daylight hours. Subjects include rules of the road, required equipment, engines and troubleshooting, weather observations, heavy weather, basic navigation, and much more. Two day class. (Course materials $40)

Bareboat Chartering ASA 104 $695.00
Pre-requisites: Basic Keelboat and Basic Coastal Cruising
An advanced cruising Standard for individuals with cruising experience. Sailors must act as Skipper or Crew of a 30-50 foot boat, sailing by day in coastal waters. The standard includes knowledge of all boat systems and maintenance procedures while demonstrating the navigational theory reequired to safely nabigate a sailing vessel. (3 day class)


Advanced Coastal Cruising Standard ASA 106 $750
Three day, two night cruise. Pre-requisites: Basic Keelboat Sailing, Basic Coastal Cruising, Bareboat Chartering and Coastal Navigation Certification. Sailors must safely act as Skipper and Crew of a sailing vessel between 30-50 feet in length. This is a day and night time Standard in coastal and inland water, and in any weather. (Course materials $40)

Coastal Navigation ASA #105 $450.00
Lectures and practical experiences are conducted during approximately ten hours of class time. Subjects include chart readings and interpretations, government publications, navigational instruments, use of tide and current tables, plotting of bearings, fixes, running fixes, dead reckoning, drift, set, etc. Students who successfully complete this course will receive ASA certifications. Written exam required. (Course materials $95)


Basic Power Boat Training $695.00
Learn the fundamentals of basic boating. Terminology, safety, rules of the road, basic chart work, required equipment, engines, troubleshooting, radio procedures, and docking practice. A minimum of hours is dedicated to docking practice. Additional docking practice is $25 per hour. Approximately 8 hours. (Course materials $35)
Our training classes are scheduled every weekend between May 1st and October 18th.
 
If you are coming from out of town, we can help you with overnight accommodations, either by land or water.  If you stay on a boat, you can walk to restaurants from our docks.
